old favorite app. mint.

I have been using this app for a long time now and love it. It came to mind today because my handsome hubby and I sat down to look at our budget (at Jacob's insistence- he's the number's guy and I like to not think about numbers). I don't horribly mind Mint though because it is incredibly easy to use and it is well designed (which I like).Mint is designed by Intuit (the company that designed a little program call QuickBooks- yeah a little bit of a big deal). It allows you to track your finances and watch your budget from your computer, your smartphone, and your tablet (both Android and iPhone). You just enter in your different accounts (banks, stocks, 401k, etc) and then a secure password. Then Mint reviews your accounts and offers you a budget (which you can then adjust if you would like) which it then sends you updates and warnings as you spend throughout the month. All you have to do is just make sure the different purchases you make are categorized in the proper budget category (which is incredibly easy). Plus, on top of all of this, the app is free! Completely and totally free!

You know how it is hard to keep track of all those little purchases throughout the month that eat away at your budget? This is the best app for that. It has been unbelievably helpful to get on track and stay on my budget (which is always helpful). Plus, the app lets you add in "goals" you are trying to attain - like saving up for a house, paying off debt, etc. :)I use the iPhone app the most and my handsome hubby uses it on his Android all the time (we both have it on my iPad and his tablet too). It has been awesome for us as a couple too. While I was never excited to 'review the budget' every week, my smart husband never liked dragging me (pouting and whining) to the computer so we could review the week and see how much we could spend the next week. Now its fairly painless to glance at my phone and see that we only have $50 left in our shopping budget, if the check for our rent was finally cashed, when the next bill for my college loans was due, or how much cash we have left over how much we have on the credit card. So now its not just just my handsome hubby looking at the numbers, but we both are. :)Beautiful benefit - there is less stress between us and less arguing. That's living beautifully! :D**Please note that I did not receive any reimbursement or product for this feature- I will always disclose if and when I do.**
