Holiday Party Makeup Guide

Holiday parties are all the rage these days- I have like four on my calendar (three of which are on the same day).  I like to spruce up my makeup a bit for parties- my day time makeup keeps things natural and subtle (with maybe just a little wing on my eyeliner).I've gathered up all my staples and extra fun things for a whole party look in this little guide for you.

Primer is super important, no matter the occasion- and this one (even though its a wee bit pricey) is killer. It has SPF in it, anti-aging magic, and of course locks your makeup in place. This one has a fantastic powdery finish and has done everything it promises.

I don't know about you guys but I need extra moisture during the winter months- plus I don't like to cake on to much foundation when I'm doing a more bold look everywhere else. I want a even, smooth, flawless finish... but I want it to be light and moisturizing at the same time. This particular foundation from BareMinerals is awesome on all those fronts.You can also get the brush that which is $28 and great- but my fingers have been used to the apply this in the past and they worked fine.

3 | mineral veil finishing powder | shop

Just as important as your primer is a finishing powder- I only apply it over my foundation. I just wait a few moments until my foundation feels dry to the touch and do a couple quick sweeps of BareMinerals finishing powder to help seal the deal.

4 | the balm cindy lou manizer | shop

When I do a bolder lip or eye I like to keep my cheeks a little more subtle. I've talked about this highlighter before, but I love it (and it lasts forever). It has a subtle pink color and also adds that great highlighting glow.

5 | naked eye palette | shop

I'm not one for crazy eye shadow colors. I don't mind a few blues and a sparkles, but that's about all I do. I love Urban Decay's naked palettes- they have a couple different sets. They're basic one is my everyday one and then this crazier one is what I reach for on a party night. :)

6 | 100% pure mascara | shop

This is the best natural mascara I have found hands down- doesn't get to flakey, smells like berries as you put it on and has great pigmentation. I highly recommend it.

7 | intense i-color liquid eyeliner | shop

I have been using Almay liquid eyeliner for years now- it works really well for me. I have their straight black as well as this pearlized black (it has a bit of sparkle in it). Love it.

8 | liquid suede cream lipstick | shop

The other day I went into Ulta to replace my used stila lipstick stain- and when my color was sold out the gal there directed me to this much more cost effective (yet just has pretty and effective) product by NYX. I was floored by how great it worked for the price. I even grabbed a lip liner as well.

9 | facial spray with aloe, herb and rosewater | shop

Once I'm all glamoured up- I spritz a bit of my facial spray by Mario Badescu. Again a great way to just lock everything in place one last time before heading out for the party.
