Marsala. Color of the Year.

2015_0316_covercoloroftheyearI should have stopped to do this post sooooo much earlier this year. SIGH. Oh well.Anyway, I'm a big big fan of Pantone's Color of the Year- Marsala. I love the rich, earthy boldness of it. I think it is super wearable and flattering- whether its a lip color, a nail polish, a scarf, or a floor length gown.Marsala is a more subtle wine color with brown hues to it- deep and strong without being too dark or bright. The past couple years of colors from Pantone have be bright and vibrant and saturated (which I do love mind you) which I just found less versatile. I mean- both my hubby and I have a little this color in our closet. One of my favorite dresses is a body hugging marsala dress- flattering without being a basic-black and bold without being wedding-disrupting red.Plus, it is an easy option for someone looking for a more colorful wall or upholstery color. It has a more timeless feel than many of the past colors Pantone selected that makes it an easier selection for a more permanent choice.I gathered up some marsala inspired etsy finds for you... which you will notice some different shades going on. Marsala is truly less on the berry side of a wine color and leans a little lighter and more brown shade. Its hard though to stick to strict specifics when you are browsing etsy. :)marsala_etsyfinds1  long sheer scarf by wild rose and sparrow  //  2  tassle necklace by crash and duchess3  portfolio tote by RACHELelise  //  4  outdoor bar cart by tim and kim show 5  obi belt clutch by fml design  //  6  floor length infinity dress by mimetik7  prismatic gemstone gendant  by little dirty dish  //  8  vintage long suede coat by moon and soda9  color block pillow cover by jillian renee decor  //  10  men's bow tie by dance CHICKENS dance11  hand dyed round rug by owl song studio  //  12  leather earrings by nickel and suede
