2013 Goals. Revisit & Checkin.

NewGoals2013

NewGoals2013

So at the beginning of the year I had a nice doable list of goals that I wanted to accomplish this year and I wanted to make sure I did I checkin half way through the year (roughly)... but life changes things don't you think? My current life situation was nothing I imagined happening when I wrote my list in January. I didn't think my hubby and I would be buying a home for a couple more years... plus we adopted a puppy... found a new church family that we love... and did I mention the house thing? Life just changes and things happen that make you let go of your goals and let them change into new goals. Truthfully- my goals haven't changed much overall- the game plans that I had in my head to tackle those goals has changed drastically.

Goals for the Year :

1. I really want to learn to play the piano… and become proficient at it. :)This is going great- for a while I thought I wasn't doing well (I thought I should be progressing faster than I was). I'm sticking with it though which I'm really proud about and I am progressing at a good pace. I just need to remember I've only been playing for 6 months.2. I enjoyed doing this last year… So I’m going to read at least four new books.Doing well on this- I've kind of lost track of how many I have read this year. I'll have to check. :) 3. I’m really going to finish decorating my apartment. I’m so close… it’ll happen this year!So this is now the biggie when it comes to life changing things... obviously now I've stopped focusing on decorating my apartment and now want to get a really good start on decorating and nesting in our new home! :) I'm thinking though- before I completely pack up my apartment I'll snap some pictures and show you my before and after. How does that sound?4. I’m want to build a remixable wardrobe- and use my clothes better. :)I feel like I'm really becoming great at using my wardrobe- I still get those days when I stare at my closet think 'heavens... I don't want to wear any of this' but don't we all? I've added in items to my wardrobe that I never really wore before that mix things up nicely for me. I'll talk about this more later. :)5. Yep… exercise regularly (isn’t that everyone’s goal?).Ugh... I'm failing so horribly at this goal. I was down and out so long last year when I hurt my toe... then it took me slow long to train my body to walk right again. Ugh excuses I know. I have a plan though and I've gotten my husband in on it, so I'm hoping I can turn this one around (this is why mid way checkins are brilliant).6. My husband and I want to cook at home more often. :)Okay- so we are kind of failing at this in a way - the craziness of life has kind made revert back to our old ways. lol. This goal in particular has an exciting future though- our new home is literally walking distance from a WholeFoods, Target, and KingSoopers. So my husband and I have a game plan that we are excited to try to force us to eat homemade meals more often. I shall explain it in a little bit. :)7. Simplify my life.I'm kind of killing it at this one right now... with my massive urge to get rid of everything we don't want anymore before moving to our new place. I was doing horribly on this up until we decided to buy a home. I'm going to keep going though. I want to pare down to just a little over the necessities. :D
