currently loving. halloween costumes.

Halloween is only a few days away my friends. Have you already planned your costume or is that a last minutes thing for you? I'm not really all that into Halloween all that much- I don't like scary or spooky things. So I'm usually a last minutes type of costume person, but this year I had the idea for our couple costume (my hubby and me of course). I haven't finished it... but I know what we are going to be. lol. It is a step at least. I'll share it with you when I'm done with it.I have collected a few of my current favorite costume ideas that have been floating around the world wide web (Pinterest particularly... I'll be honest). I felt like getting into the spirit of things and share them with you.Mary Poppins and Bert

Mary Poppins and Burt :

How cute is this? What's awesome is you might be able to create this lovely ensemble from items you already have in your wardrobe. For Mary Poppins, you will need a white button-down blouse paired with black stockings, shoes and a skirt, and accented with a red belt, bow tie and white gloves (don’t forget the black umbrella and top hat). For Burt, you will need black pants and a gray button down shirt plus a suit vest, red scarf/cravat, suspenders, and of course a chimney sweep.iPod Commercial

iPod Commercial :

Easy? Why yes it is. Instantly recognizable? Definitely. All you need for this quick iPod Commercial costume is head to toe black clothing, white headphones and an iPod, and bright poster board. The best part is that it is not that hard to attach to yourself - poke holes in the poster board to fashion it into a backpack-like-system with bungee cords.

Low Resolution

Low Resolution :

Super cleaver and pretty simple. I would use some photoshop magic and printable irons for the shirt and all you need is a little face paint to finish it off. There you go. You're low resolution.UP Little Old Man

UP Little Old Man :

This is so incredibly adorable and so simple. All you need for your UP Little Old Man would be some pvc pipe, tennis balls, a sweater, glasses, bow tie... oh yes and balloons (preferably helium filled). Photograph masterfully captured by Auburn Soul Photography.Popcorn for Sale

Popcorn for Sale :

Cleaver and adorable. I love the mixture. The hardest part of being a Popcorn Sales Staff would be to making the popcorn bag- but that can be tackled merely with some felt. The rest just requires white button down shirts, red bow ties, a red apron, and some popcorn hot glued to a baby beanie. The hardest part about this costume would probably be having the cute little kernel. ;)Crazy Cat Lady

Crazy Cat Lady :

Again... another adorable one. It might just be the tiny little smile, but I love this. Becoming the Cat Lady isn't all that hard, you'll just be needing a fluffy bathrobe (preferably pink?), curlers, slippers, winged glasses, and an exorbitant number of stuffed kitties (or maybe if you are brave you could try to carry around a real kitty... but that might not be wise).Call Me Maybe

Call Me Maybe :

Everyone has heard the song... now be the pop singing sensation. To pull off the cover look of Carly Rae Jepsen, pull out your cutoffs, a light bohemian shirt, white socks, and some clunky heals (and for added effect carry around a phone). Oh and definitely don't forget those bangs.Binder Full of Women

Binder Full of Women :

I don't care if you are Democrat, Republican, or Undeclared (like yours truly), it is hard to not get a kick out of Governor Romney's words. Pack a Binder Full of Women (like your close girlfriends) with poster board, mason jar lids (for the rings), five star logo, and some handles on the inside for you and your girls to hang on to. You could even try going solo... walk around with "three hole punches" on one side of your shirt. For more 2012 Pop Culture costumes - check out Brit+Co. for her awesome list.
