Explored. Farmer's Market & Food Trucks.
Belmar is a pretty active place to live. This last weekend Belmar started its annual Summer Farmer's Market that we stopped by on Saturday to grab some lunch and see what was there is year.I love Farmer's Markets... I love fairs in general. I grew up in a agricultural area- through out the summer we always had some sort of fair or festival to celebrate the different types of produce... so we had Apple Fest, Sweet Corn Festival... Cherry... Peach... so on and so forth. It was so fun. I think it is a lot of fun to walk around the different booths and talk to the vendors and see what unique items they are offering. My favorite one from the Farmer's Market was Red Camper... which made these really awesome boozy preserves. Jacob and I walked away with a Whiskey Peach and a Lemon IPA. lol. They are soooo good! I think have mentioned before- but I'm not a heat person. I was feeling a little sweaty and uncomfortable... my hubby harassed me until I pulled a smile for him. :-/Red Camper's boozy preserves! So so good! The one on the far left is the Whiskey Peach and the far right is the Lemon IPA. :D Something though that I never really thought about at the fairs I grew up with where the food trucks... there were always food trucks. Now they're really cool and all over the place, but still a staple for fairs and festivals... and farmer's markets. We tried the Perogie Factory at the Farmer's Market this weekend- I really like perogies and keilbasa and cabbage wraps and sauerkraut (is that weird?)... so I was pretty excited. Yum! This is what they called the 'Polish Feast' with a sampling of everything off their menu. :)
