currently loving. holiday festivities.
Sooo glad it is Thursday- the weekend is almost here- then we will head into Thanksgiving week! Wonderful. I have a wedding to go this weekend - and while weddings are not incredibly common in the months ahead- holiday parties are certainly very popular. So I decided to show off my wine inspired ensemble for the wedding (I will be using this outfit again I think for holiday parties as well).I love deep jewel tones- especially with more elegant and formal pieces. My husband actually picked out this wine colored dress, and I was very very hesitant to try it out but it fit wonderfully and looked great. The rest of the outfit I wanted to just support the color of the dress so I went with pewter tones. Also, while cardigans aren't my husband's favorite thing ever- this one is a little more dressy and does tone down the 'sexyness' of the dress. Plus, it is getting pretty cold here consistently. Now I love little evening bags... sometimes I know they are a little silly, but I hate it when I put a fancy little outfit together and just have my big day to day bag to go with it. So I have a few little clutches that I can throw lip gloss, mascara, cover up, my phone, my id, and my card into.As far as jewelry- I like to keep it simple simple (the only time I went a little above and beyond was at my wedding- and even then above and beyond just meant flashier pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and a pearl bracelet). So I have a pair of simple pearl drop earrings that I pair with the pearl bracelet my mother made me (yeah... made me...) for my wedding. I don't like looking like I'm trying to be flashy.Now- you can no longer find my shoes... which is unfortunate because I love them. I love the subtle exotic print and the sling back. I have found some similar options for you if you are interested.
