A Squeeky Clean Face with Black Soap
Have you heard of Black Soap (also known as African Black Soap, Anago Soap, Alata Simena,or Ose Dudu)?I just recently discovered it a few months ago in my Birchbox- when I received Shea Terra Oragnics' Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Cleanser. It kind of weirded (is that a word?) me out when I first tried it as it oozed out of the sample bottle and had a faint, weird odor to it (what kind of odor? couldn't put my finger on it but it almost unpleasant). Smearing it all over my face that first time was disconcerting... it makes your face (if you are pale pale pale like me) look pretty un-soaped up. It pretty much looks like you smeared black mud all over your face.I was pretty certain I wasn't enjoying the process all that much- I left it on for the recommended 10 minutes before promptly washing it off. Then, plot twist, came amazement (so much for judging a facial mask by its color, smell, and texture). My face felt and looked awesome. I joke not- smooth without feeling rubbed raw and squeaky clean. So after that I decided I would look into this Black Soap and see what I could find. Here is the gist of it friends- Black Soap is a pretty incredible anti-acne and anti-aging soap that is known to, yes- fight acne and wrinkles, but to also fight razor burn, evening out skin tone, and more. Traditional, authentic black soap is made from the ash of locally harvested plants and barks such a plantain, cocoa pods, palm tree leaves, shea tree bark, and various oils (palm oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil).Be mindful if you want to search is out and try it- there is a lot of fake black soap on market due to the immense popularity of black soap.Try It for Yourself | $16Read More About Black Soap | Check Out Shea Terra's Entire Line of Products
