monthlygiftbox I've been subscribed to Birchbox for several months now so I finally feel fairly comfortable writing a review.Honestly I think its hard to recommend subscription boxes- I personally love them and have several (not all of them beauty related) that I get monthly. Generally speaking though- the boxes vary month to month so some boxes are definitely better than others... so I always worry that after I recommend it your first month will be lacking and you'll be upset about it (which would make me pretty sad). :(Anyway- that being said I subscribe to two beauty related subscription 'boxes' - ipsy and Birchbox - but I have only received one ipsy box/bag at this point so I won't make any comments about it. I will say I really enjoy Birchbox- they put in such attention to detail and they package everything so nicely. Plus- I have discovered some of my new favorite beauty products through them.Birchbox is ten dollars a month- and (in my experience) sends you about five travel sized samples of amazing products. I think it is a reasonable enough price to make it worth just trying it out- to see if you love it as well. monthlygiftbox_products For the holiday season Birchbox has built a really awesome Ultimate Collection which is gift subscription- which allows you to give someone subscription boxes that they will receive each month. The ultimate collection comes with a year long subscription plus five products. The first shipment includes the first month's subscription box plus a printed pouch filled with BAGGU Holiday Clutch, Jouer Perfect Red Collection Hydrating Lipstick in Ava, Isaac Mizrahi FABULOUS Rollerball, Serge Normant Travel Size Meta Luxe Hair Spray and the RUFFIAN Crowdsourced Collection.I think that is a cute idea for Christmas as your recipient will keep receiving boxes each month for a year - which feels very gift-that-keeps-on-giving to me. The price tag on that ultimate collection though might be a little steep at two-hundred dollars... which I generally can't swing for just one person around Christmas. So there are other subscription gifting options though- you have send some anywhere from 3-months, 6-months, 12-months, or that ultimate collection.
