threadbare paris home
I have another Decorate & Dwell Tuesday for you (ah... getting back in the swing of things). I found a very unique and lovely dwelling place from Paris. The home is a 1,600-square-foot house that sits on a quiet alley in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. It was built in the 1800s as a haberdashery (which is a shop that sells small articles for sewing, such as buttons, ribbons, zips, and other notions). This home has a wonderful charm about it (which may not be my first or favorite choice to be totally honest with you- but its hard to not see how very lovely this home is). There is such lovely character in all the details from the floor to ceiling windows in the living area (which expands two floors) to the cast-iron bookshelfs in the living area that expand up into the mezzanine area (which dates back to the 1900s) and to the wood cabinets in the kitchen that are remnants from when the home was originally a haberdashery.my lovely source: NYTimes
