Hello July! Downloadable Calendar Freebie.

free digital July wallpapers for tablet, phone, and computer

Hello July! Happy Fourth of July to all of my fellow Americans! And hello free July 2019 calendar (and hello to an extra festive freebie).

Now that we are half way through the year- I was ready to change up my calendar style just a tiny bit. This was a fun digital painting I did exclusively on my iPad- including hand lettering (digitally) the calendar and quote. It was so very fun (and easier to do just from my couch while I was watching tv).

Summer is officially here. June was pretty rainy though… it switched quickly from super rainy to very hot all in the past week. Now it is hot… and I’m afraid I’ll get a little grumpy.

Baby girl is doing so well. She’s crawling and cruising and making the funniest faces. She does this cute little goofy smile where she scrunches her face all to together with a giant smile on her face (it cracks us up soooo much).

I’m starting to plan her birthday party… and I’m equal parts excited and melancholy about it. Plus, my hubby’s birthday is coming up here in a few days. Life is just happening. Time is just going so so fast friends.

One more fun note- my old lightbox broke my site (so… had to find a new one obviously). The lightbox is a little different now- nothing is broken. It just looks a little different. You can click anywhere to close it and then pick the next one. Right click as normal on the image to save to your device. That’s all! :)

Neon Clouds. Art Series.

three cloud inspired paintings using a bright, neon color palette

Another little paining series- I’m really having fun with the simple, abstract-(like) paintings with the thick strokes and bright color palettes.

Building and playing with color palettes is a big part of the process for me. I really enjoy purusing through Pinterest to fine color inspiration. I have a whole pinterest board full of just that. This little palette is a little on the neon vibes side with some intense pinks, teals, and a bright yellow.

So here’s another new little series and… I call it Neon Clouds (I feel kind of stupid naming my paintings).

Doodles of Sprinkles.

bright donut covered in sprinkles. pink tones.

Here are some simple happy doodles of treats with sprinkles. And just for fun I decided to use a very limited color palette (yes… it is the same color palette as my pop poppies).

Donuts are one of my hubbies favorite desserts (cookies are close runner for favorite too). We’ve sampled many different ones from lots of different shops. I’m going to venture a guess that one he had on a trip to Texas was his favorite… he brings it up pretty much all the time when we talk about donuts (which is fairly often surprisingly).

While I would probably tell you that ice cream and chocolate are my sweet treats of choice… When I was preggers I wanted chocolate frosties all the time. I’m not crazy picky though- I particularly love ice cream served with a brownie/cookie/cake/etc.

Happy National Doughnut Day – by the way!

I wasn’t initially going to but per my hubby’s suggestion- I did put my doodles on Society6.

Hello June! Downloadable Calendar Freebie.

free beach collage for multiple devices

Hello June! And hello free June 2019 calendar. Hello brand new branding for my little blog. Welcome to Okay Miss- I’m still doing the free calendar thing! :D

May was cold… and here’s to hoping that Summer shows up soon. Spring felt a bit more wintery, unfortunately- but summer will be here soon. I’m sure of it.

May was kind of busy. We drove out twice to see my family over near Grand Junction- once to see my baby brother’s last high school play and then again to watch him graduate. It was more emotional than I thought I would be… I cried a tiny bit at the ceremony.

Baby girl is teething- she’s only been a bit fussier than usual. She’s probably the best baby in the world- honestly. We got so lucky. She’s happy and smiley all the time, plus she sleeps through the night. I promise we understand how lucky we are- sleep is awesome and so is our baby girl.

Life is still good. And as always I hope that life is good for you too.

Pop Poppies. Art Series.

My hubby bought me an iPad Pro (with an Apple Pencil) for Christmas this past year and since then I have been painting and doodling and handlettering constantly.

I used to paint a lot- and a few of my paintings still hang in our house. But since moving into our house (not sure why that affected it) I stopped painting so much… then when I got pregnant I decided that for the sake of the nursery I had to give up most of my painting supplies.

The new iPad sparked this brand new, refreshed joy of painting in me. I mean… I don’t have to set up anything. I don’t have to clean up after. I can start and stop with zero worry about paint drying or not drying.

Now I want to share it all. When I was younger I was so scared to share any of my paintings or doodles with anyone- and I’m tired of being scared. Art is art. You connect with it or you don’t. I’m okay with that.

So here’s my first new little series and… I call it Pop Poppies.

Hello May! Downloadable Calendar Freebie.

Hello May! And hello free May 2019 calendar. Still very unpredictable spring here in Denver- but buds are starting to appear on the trees and things are starting to look bright and green. It still snows (like it did on Monday) and gets pretty cold occasionally (like it has been all week).

My office has officially moved to downtown Denver- and it is pretty awesome. It has added a bit of time (and stress) to my commute- but I’m figuring it out. It’s a welcome adjustment- and I’m very glad that the actual move is over. :)

Sadly… we did say goodbye to my grandmother as well in April. We flew out for the funeral as a family and all mourned together. She was an incredible woman and affected so many people’s lives. We will miss her so so so much.

Baby girl is crawling and pulling herself up to standing. We’ve entered the stage where we turn from her for just a moment and when we turn back she’s across the room standing against the couch. I’ll be cooking and feel something touching my foot and look down to find her pulling on my pants. It’s fun and nerve racking and awesome- all at once.

Life is still good. And as always I hope that life is good for you too.
